Common Korean Verbs 42-51


Alright, here are 10 more common Korean verbs! There are two verbs in this list,    쓰다 and 걸다, that have SO MANY MEANINGS, argghh. So, I've tried my best to group the meanings together into digestible pieces and have additional pictures. As always, verbs marked with an *** are irregular and I have written down three forms of the present tense. 
42.  쓰다:
a) To write, compose, describe/say, write down
-그 책에는 무엇이라 써 있느냐?  What does the book say/describe?

b) to speak, use 
-그는 영어를 모국에어처럼 쓴다 He speaks English like a native speaker. 
c) to  use (as, for), make use of, put to use, work (a machine), handle, manipulate
-  이것은 무엇에 쓰느냐? What is this used for? 
d)  to use, spend, consume (money, time) 
- 돈을 다 써버렸다 I used up all of my money. 
e) to use, exert, exercise, put forth 
- 힘을  쓰다 to exert oneself, to use one's strength 
- 머리를 쓰다 to use one's brains, to use one's head

g) to use, to adopt, take (a new method, way)

-수단을 쓰다 to resort to/take a measure
